Can ‘Glee’ hit the right notes at the Grammys?

What do Eminem, Ludacris and Matthew Morrison have in common?

All three are on the Grammy Awards eligibility list for Best Solo Rap Performance. For his rap rendition of “Gold Digger,” the curly-haired star of “Glee” makes the list next to Kanye West. Even die-hard Gleeks have to agree some of the show’s more cringe-worthy moments occur when Morrison, who otherwise has a great singing voice, tries his hand at rapping.

What are Morrison’s chances of actually landing a nomination? Well, anything’s possible, but the last time I checked, hell was still hot. A Morrison nomination in this category would probably surpass the embarrassment felt by the Grammys when Jethro Tull knocked off Metallica for the first-ever Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Grammy award. Judge for yourself below.

Morrison’s rap isn’t the only one “Glee” tune entered for consideration. Most, but not all, of the show’s submissions are complete longshots. “Glee” could possibly get a nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack. And it could be a dark horse in the Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Don’t Stop Believin'” (Regionals version).

The complete list is after the break.
