‘The Social Network’ gets best odds to win the top Golden Globe

Even though “The King’s Speech” leads with the most Golden Globe nominations, I’m giving “The Social Network” the best odds to win Best Drama Picture because voters seem to prefer what’s hip — and Yankee. Remember, they’re members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. They speak with funny accents. They feel like outsiders and, when choosing award winners, they often make a special point for opting for what’s cool — like they demonstrated last year by picking “Avatar” over eventual Oscar Best Picture champ “The Hurt Locker.”

The odds below are preliminary and my own. Gold Derby is busy canvassing the opinions of other experts right now. Soon we’ll feature their predix with a separate set of racetrack odds reflecting those views.
