Unlike other award shows, the Daytime Emmys have a preliminary round of voting in which actors must first be selected by academy voters to represent their chosen series. The breakdown by show of those who put themselves in the running can be found here.
The 80 performers who made these “pre-nominations” lists then submitted a sample episode of their work to the judging panels. The 28 finalists for the six acting races were announced Wednesday leaving 52 performers out of the running.
