The 17th annual edition of these awards did well with their simulcast on TNT and TBS. TNT averaged 2,820,000 viewers while TBS delivered 2,185,000 viewers for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The kudocast rated as the top show on basic cable Sunday and can boast of growing its audience by 6% over last year.
And, in a sign of just how popular awards shows are, the two-hour ceremony posted strong gains in the key adult demos:
Adults 18-34: 1,163,000 (+30%)
Adults 18-49: 2,181,000 (+13%)
Adults 25-54: 2,238,000 (+8%)
The SAG Awards topped Twitter during the simulcast and ranked as one of the trending topics on the service on both Sunday and Monday.
