SAG TV Awards snubs: “Homeland,” Jim Parsons, Melissa McCarthy

The surprises were many at this year’s SAG Award nominations for TV. Among the notable snubs are: Showtime’s breakout drama “Homeland” across the board; NBC’s “Parks and Recreation“; two-time Emmy-winner Jim Parsons (though “The Big Bang Theory” was nominated for Best Comedy Ensemble); the supporting women of “Mildred Pierce,” including Evan Rachel Wood and Melissa Leo; “House‘s” Hugh Laurie, snubbed for the first time in seven years; and Emmy-winner Melissa McCarthy, ignored for “Mike & Molly,” though she did receive two SAG nominations for film (Ensemble and Supporting Actress for “Bridesmaids”).
