At this year’s AMAs, Adele leads with the most nominations (4), including the big one — Artist of the Year. Among her rivals for that prize as well as Pop/Rock Female Artist are Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Also in the running for the top race are 2009 champ Taylor Swift and Lil Wayne.
The AMAs are bestowed across eight genres — Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Contemporary Inspirational — with two general awards for Artist and New Artist.
Nominees were determined by a combination of sales, airplay, activity on social networks, and video viewership. For the fifth year, winners will be decided by online voting.
