Reigning four-time champ Jeff Probst (“Survivor”) is heavily favored to win Best Reality Host again this year. He is the top pick for nine of our Experts, all of our Editors and the vast majority of our Users. 


One of our Experts is backing the bid by four-time nominee Tom Bergeron (“Dancing With the Stars”). He is expected to return to the ballot as are Cat Deeley (“So You Think You Can Dance”), Phil Keoghan (“The Amazing Race”) and Ryan Seacrest (“American Idol”).

Other possible contenders include Nick Cannon (“America’s Got Talent”), RuPaul Charles(“RuPaul’s Drag Race”), Julie Chen (“Big Brother”), Carson Daly (“The Voice”), Chris Harrison(“The Bachelor”), Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage (“MythBusters”), Cesar Millan (“Dog Whisperer”), Ty Pennington (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”), Alison Sweeney (“The Biggest Loser”) and Mark L. Walberg (“Antiques Roadshow”).

  1. This was a ridiculous category to begin with. The Emmy Academy should bring back the category of Individual Variety Performance but split it into two for series and specials. Reality show hosts should be nominated with the program. Variety special perform

  2. performances for variety specials should be nominated separately from the program. The categories of reality show host and the talked about reality show judge were big mistakes on the Emmy Academy’s part.
