Jesse & Joy, sibling singers who hail from Mexico, won four of their five bids at the Latin Grammys Thursday.
The duo won Best Record and Best Song for the catchy “Corre.” They also claimed Best Contemporary Pop Album (“¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro?”) and Best Short Form Video (“Me Voy”).
Among those they bested for Best Song was Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra who counted two tune nods among his leading six nominations. He had to be content with winning Best Producer and sharing in the Best Album award with Juanes for that Colombian rock star’s “MTV Unplugged” disc. That brings his total haul to 19 Latin Grammys, tying the record of Calle 13.
All four of the general field categories have been expanded to 10 nominees for the 13th annual kudofest which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and aired on Univision.
