The silver anniversary edition of the Kids’ Choice Awards Saturday saluted many old favorites and welcomed a few newcomers as well. (See the full list of winners here.)
Among the veterans, Selena Gomez won two more of the colorful blimps, taking home Favorite TV Actress for the fourth year in a row for “Wizards of Waverly Place” as well as Favorite Female Singer over the likes of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Perry had to settle for Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie for her work on “The Smurfs.
Justin Bieber was named Favorite Male Singer for the second year in a row and also received the dubious honor of Biggest Slime of the Night as he was doused with the trademark green goo.
Adam Sandler picked up his sixth Favorite Movie Actor award besting, among others, last year’s champ Johnny Depp and “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe.
The final installment of that franchise lost all of its bids, as Favorite Movie went to “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” and Emma Watson saw Favorite Movie Actress go to Kristen Stewart. This marks the first solo win for Stewart; her “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner, with whom she shared the Cutest Couple prize in 2009, was named Favorite Butt Kicker.
Reigning three-time Favorite TV Series champ “iCarly” lost to the aptly-named “Victorious” but Jenette McCurdy did take Favorite TV Sidekick. Jake Short (“A.N.T. Farm”) won Favorite TV Actor. And “Spongebob Square Pants” claimed Favorite TV Cartoon for an eighth time.
Taylor Swift was feted with the Big Help Award for her charitable work by First Lady Michelle Obama. Will Smith hosted these kudos, which aired on Nickelodeon, from the Galen Center at USC
