Oscar nominations snubs: Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Leonardo DiCaprio

Proving that we Oscar forecasters can’t always tell which way the wind is blowing, the Academy Awards provided a number of surprises to go along with expected nominees like “The Artist,” “Hugo,” and “The Descendants.” (See complete list of nominees here)

Notable snubs include: Leonardo DiCaprio for “J. Edgar,” Michael Fassbender for “Shame,” Albert Brooks in “Drive,” Tilda Swinton in “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” “#The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in Best Picture#, “The Adventures of Tintin” from Best Animated Feature, and “Project Nim” from Best Documentary Feature.
