The Worst Picture race is full of potential “winners.”
Adam Sandler playing fraternal twins in “Jack and Jill” is tailor-made for the Razzies Awards, which often reward drag comedies. It leads with twelve nominations and is the only film with more bids than there are categories.
“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is the third film in the franchise, following “Revenge of the Fallen,” which won Worst Picture in 2009. No franchise in Razzie history has boasted multiple Worst Pictures, but “Dark” has nine nominations, the second most nominations this year.
“Breaking Dawn: Part 1” is nominated for eight Razzie Awards, but despite thirteen nominations earned for previous installments, the “Twilight” franchise has only won once: Worst Supporting Actor last year for Jackson Rathbone.
The only nominee this year with a perfect 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, “Bucky Larson,” also co-written and produced by Sandler, is nominated for six Razzies overall.
“New Year’s Eve” was a critically drubbed romantic comedy with an all-star cast experiencing love during the titular holiday. It has five total nominations, including Worst Ensemble.
