Mark Harris (Grantland): ’12 Years A Slave’ will be big Oscar winner

Top Oscarologist Mark Harris (Grantland) has weighed in with his picks in the top races in this year’s derby. (See all of his predictions here.)

He predicts “12 Years a Slave” will win Best Picture, Director (Steve McQueen), Supporting Actor (Michael Fassbender) and Adapted Screenplay.

However, he thinks Supporting Actress will go to Oprah Winfrey (“The Butler“) over “12 Years” breakout star Lupita Nyongo.

Mark expects Robert Redford to win his first acting Oscar for his lead role in “All is Lost” and Cate Blanchett to pick up her second for “Blue Jasmine.” And he thinks Woody Allen will extend his record in Original Screenplay to four with a win for “Blue Jasmine.”
