Justin Timberlake has won six American Music Awards to date (including three with ‘N Sync), and our predictors expect him to almost double that total this year. Based on our racetrack odds, he’ll go five-for-five at Sunday night’s ceremony, including his first ever win for Artist of the Year. He’ll also win Favorite Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B Male, and Favorite Pop/Rock and Soul/R&B Album (“The 20 20 Experience“).

Timberlake faces Taylor Swift in the Artist of the Year contest. The country crossover star won both of her previous nominations (2009, 2011), but even though we’re forecasting a loss for her this year, she’s still favored in a trio of races: Pop/Rock Female, Country Female, and Country Album (“Red“). That would bring her total AMAs haul to 14.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who lead all artists with six bids, will also be multiple winners, taking four: Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Album (“The Heist“), Pop/Rock Duo or Group, and New Artist of the Year.
While Timberlake will take most of the Soul/R&B categories, Rihanna will win Soul/R&B Female for the fourth time, in addition to accepting the special Icon Award for her body of work.
Favorite artists in other genres will be Imagine Dragons (Alternative Rock), Bruno Mars (Adult Contemporary), Romeo Santos (Latin), TobyMac (Contemporary Inspirational), and Daft Punk (Electronic Dance Music), while “Pitch Perfect” will best “Les Miserables” and “The Great Gatsby” for Favorite Soundtrack Album.
