Oscars poll: What’s your favorite Best Picture of the past 20 years?

Naming the best Best Picture since 1993 is easy for me — “Slumdog Millionaire,” a movie so perfect that it reigns near the top of my list of the 10 Greatest Movies Ever Made. It’s got everything — it’s a passionately fierce romance wrapped in an intense action movie that says a lot about the economic injustice of our time. It dramatizes the three chief pursuits of man — for love, money and fame — in a selfless tale that makes your heart crack, then makes it explode with joy at its exhilarating finale. But enough of my babbling. What’s your fave? And why? Tell us in the comments section below.

BELOW: Tell us which films you believe will be nominated for Best Picture this year. Make your initial predix now. Change them later as often as you like.

  1. There are so many good ones, but No Country For Old Men is the best Coen Brothers film, and one of my favourite films of all time. I would have picked LOTR as a whole, but it wasn’t the best standalone film of the bunch.

  2. American Beauty is the most cherful, hilarious, excellent, hearttempting, and brilliant movie ever made. It standings in some strong plot, acting performance, and lovebale directing…
It’s my top best movie so far…..

  3. This was an insanely difficult choice between “Schindler’s List” and “American Beauty” which are both testaments to how powerfully cinema can move us. I ultimately went with “Beauty” because, unlike “Schindler’s List,” “American Beauty” is a film I can watch over and over again. I think I’ve actually seen the movie almost twenty times.
