Who will win Daytime Emmy for Younger Actress? Watch the nominees’ reels

Cable network HLN has made available the nominated performance reels for Best Younger Actress at the Daytime Emmys. Starting this week, for the first time in the awards’ history, the public will be able to view the same episodes that judges are using to decide the winners. Yesterday, HLN unveiled the Younger Actor nominees, and additional categories are yet to come.

The women nominated for Younger Actress are fresh faces at the Daytime Emmys; of the four, only Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (“The Bold and the Beautiful“) is a previous nominee. She plays Steffy Forrester, who in her submission makes the decision to grant her husband, Liam (Supporting Actor nominee Scott Clifton), a divorce, but after they reminisce he tears up the papers and they reconcile.

Kristen Alderson (“General Hospital“) is a first-time Emmy nominee, but far from a newcomer to daytime. She has grown up on soaps, playing Starr Manning on “One Life to Live” for fourteen years before bringing the character to “GH” in 2012. In her tearful reel, Starr mourns the death of her husband and daughter while vowing revenge on the man who killed them.

Alderson’s “GH” co-star Lindsey Morgan plays Kristina Corinthos Davis, the daughter of a mob boss whose episode shows her struggling after being kidnapped by one of her father’s enemies.

At more than 10 minutes, Hunter King (“The Young and the Restless“) has the longest reel. She plays Summer Newman, who fights with her parents after running away from home. “Y&R” is the most nominated program at the Daytime Emmys this year; will that translate to more support for King?
