Who will win Best Rock Performance at Grammys?

Our two music awards editors — Darrin Dortch and David Schnelwar — disagree on the winner of Best Rock Performance at this Sunday’s Grammys.

Alabama Shakes – “Hold On”
The Black Keys – “Lonely Boy” — Darrin
Coldplay – “Charlie Brown”
Mumford & Sons – “I Will Wait”
Bruce Springsteen – “We Take Care Of Our Own” — David

Darrin’s analysis
Despite strong competition from Mumford & Sons and Bruce Springsteen, The Black Keys will triumph here for their Record of the Year nominated entry.

David’s analysis
Bruce Springsteen is destined to win something this year. He is a twenty-time Grammy winner and consistently wins when nominated. Last year, Springsteen opened the show with “We Take Care of Our Own.” This year, he is receiving the MusicCares Person of the Year award.

When four bands are nominated against one veteran solo artist, expect the solo artist to win.
