Our forum posters are running riot as they dish the most jaw-dropping inclusions among the artists, albums and songs in the running for these awards which will be handed out on Jan. 26. (Read our recap of those that made the cut here.)
Which nominations do you find to be the biggest head-scratchers? Have your say here.
Below, just a sampling of their thoughts.
EagleIam: Somehow, NARAS confused Sara Bareilles with Norah Jones and gifted her with out-of-the-blue nominations.
Renaton: Kendrick Lamar nommed for AOTY and Best New Artist!
Tae04: Loving that James Blake made BNA! Wish his album got love somewhere.
Daniel B: Yet again, the Grammys give out general field nominations to artists in the wrong categories. Remember when Bon Iver‘s critically-adored self-titled album was left off the AOTY lineup, but they managed ROTY and SOTY nominations? Or that same year when Kanye West‘s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” was strangely absent from the AOTY lineup, but he still managed a SOTY nom? Or last year when Frank Ocean‘s “Thinkin’ Bout You” getting ROTY, but not SOTY?
Jake: I’m amazed that Katy Perry got sixth consecutive nomination for her vocals!!! For someone with her rather limited abilities, it’s certainly noteworthy (as is the fact that she lost five previous times and nobody calls her ‘overdue’).
Atypical: No Pop Album nomination for Sara Bareilles, though she trumped nominees Lorde, Bruno Mars, and Justin Timberlake there? Hahaha Grammys. I’m not going to go there with Lana Del Rey making the roster too lol.
KaRol: Alicia Keys got into R&B Album after last snubs.
jjjmoss: Rihanna is “urban contemporary” now?
Placeholder: Taylor Swift still competing in the country categories?
RayTurner: Kacey Musgraves scores four nominations. Woot woot. Kacey and Taylor score same number of nominations.
