Will Justin Timberlake finally win Artist of the Year at American Music Awards?

Justin Timberlake is likely to prevail in his first-ever bid for Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. He leads with odds of 9 to 5 to take this top prize at the 41st annual edition of these kudos on Nov. 24.

He has won three of his previous seven races at ABC’s answer to the Grammys (Pop/Rock Album: “Justified,” 2003; Pop/Rock Male Artist, 2007; Soul/R&B Album, “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” 2007).

This year, he contends in all those categories as well as Soul/R&B Male Artist for “The 20/20 Experience.”

Newcomers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead all contenders this year with six bids. That duo is Timberlake’s strongest competition for Artist of the Year with odds of 3 to 1.

Two-time past Artist of the Year champ Taylor Swift (2009, 2011) is in third place with odds of 9 to 2.

Three-time past contender Bruno Mars is in fourth with odds of 13 to 2.

And four-time also-ran Rihanna lags far behind in fifth with odds of 10 to 1.
