Justin Timberlake, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead MTV VMA nominations

Justin Timberlake and hip-duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis reaped a leading six bids each for the upcoming 30th annual edition of the MTV Video Music Awards. (See the full list below.)

Each has an entry in the top category of Video of the Year with Timberlake contending for “Mirrors” while Macklemore & Lewis vie with “Thrift Shop.” That race is rounded out by Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”

Rihanna, who won Video of the Year last year with Calvin Harris for “We Found Love,” reaped just one bid this time around.

This year’s kudocast will air live across the MTV network of channels on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. EST from the Barclay Center in Brooklyn.

Our forum posters are already dishing the nominations — join in the discussion here.
