7.) Despite four nominations each, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke went home empty handed.
8.) Selena Gomez‘ Best Pop Video win and Bruno Mars‘ Best Male Video win were least expected among editors and posters at GoldDerby.
9.) Thirty Seconds to Mars now ties Metallica, Limp Bizkit and Green Day as two-time VMA winners for Best Rock Video. They are only surpassed by Linkin Park with three wins and Aerosmith with four.
10.) Expect many of the same performers and winners to return for the 2014 VMAs. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus and Drake all have anticipated albums to be released before the end of 2013.
