Based on our racetrack odds, Vocal Group of the Year is one of the closest races to call at the ACM Awards. Little Big Town is the defending champion, but The Band Perry has a slim lead over the competition with 27/20 odds. It would be the first win in the category for the sibling trio, who are nominated for the fourth time in a row. This year they’re also nominated for Video of the Year for “Better Dig Two,” which makes them one of only two nominees with a nomination in another category.
That leaves Little Big Town in third place with 10/1 odds. The quartet’s win last year was their first after seven nominations. This is their eighth consecutive bid.
If they want to retain their title, they’ll also have to hold off a group with an even stronger track record: Lady Antebellum, who won three years in a row (2009-2011) and are nominated for the sixth time. Despite that previous success and their trio of nominations for featuring on Darius Rucker‘s “Wagon Wheel” (Record, Song, and Vocal Event), however, Lady A is also a 10/1 underdog.
Down but not out is the Zac Brown Band with 16/1 odds. They’re nominated for the fifth time without a win.
Will Zac Brown and company pull off an upset to win their first? Will Little Big Town successfully defend their crown? Or does the Band Perry have it sewn up? Make your predictions below:
