UPDATE: Looks like an eager fan was behind this trailer which has been yanked by YouTube.
Each of the first three seasons of the “American Horror Story” anthology series has been a top contender at the Emmys. Indeed, this year’s edition — “American Horror Story: Coven” — reaped an impressive 17 nominations, including a bid for Best Miniseries and a staggering five acting nods.
The upcoming fourth installment — subtitled “Freak Show” — brings back all five of these nominees: leads Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson as well as supporting players Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Frances Conroy. In addition, Michael Chiklis — who claimed the first-ever Emmy for an FX series with his 2002 Drama Actor win for “The Shield — has signed on for the season. He is set to play the ex-husband of Kathy Bates‘ character.
The first two seasons of “AHS” both scored acting Emmys (Lange for Season 1 and James Cromwell for Season 2). Will this upcoming season be able to make the same claim?
