There were no true stand-outs or OMG moments during Wednesday night’s “American Idol” performance show in which the contestants chose (rather safe) songs for each other. Alex Preston‘s version of “The A Team” and Jena Irene‘s performance of “Creep” seem to be your favorites based on our odds, but let’s shift focus and talk about who really blew it.
All week long you’ve been voting for which singer will be sent home from the remaining Top 7 contestants, and the results of Gold Derby’s odds are in: This week’s eliminated singer will be C.J. Harris, Dexter Roberts or Sam Woolf.

After Competitor’s Choice Night, C.J. has leading 2/5 odds to finally go home. He has been your pick to be eliminated for several weeks now, but he’s always managed to survive America’s execution.
This week C.J. sang “Gravity” by John Mayer and the judges were in agreement that it was good. But is “good” really good enough when it comes to “American Idol”?
Dexter has the second highest chance of being eliminated with 5/1 odds. The country singer consistently has trouble enunciating his lyrics, so it may have been an error in judgment to take on a tongue-twister like Luke Bryan‘s “Muckalee Creek Water.” Did America feel a strong enough connection to the song to keep him around longer?
In third place to be sent packing is Sam with 10/1 odds. This week, he bored the audience to tears by crooning David Gray‘s “Sail Away.” Sam already received the lowest number of America’s votes once before, so hearing his name called again by Ryan Seacrest on Thursday night’s results show wouldn’t be a surprise.
The winner of our “American Idol” contest at season’s end will earn a $100 Amazon gift card and two tickets to a live taping of one of next season’s episodes. So what are you waiting for? Start voting now!
