As we predicted yesterday, Jessica Meuse was given the pink slip on “American Idol” this week. Unfortunately for millions of “Idol” country fans, Meuse’s elimination means she will not go on to have the same success as Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood.
Jessica’s “Idol” run ended with a fourth place finish, leaving only three singers left. Cast your predictions for who you think will win amongst the Top 3 by clicking here.
Gold Derby’s predictions gave Jessica 1/4 odds to be eliminated, just ahead of Alex Preston with 5/1 odds. But Jessica was America’s clear choice to get the boot Thursday night after several weeks in the bottom two.
The chart on the left shows the order of who you thought would be eliminated tonight. Jessica and Alex placed at the top of the chart, followed by the season’s two rock star headliners Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene, both with 22/1 odds of elimination.
As for dearly departed Jessica, this season’s rock/country goddess will likely go on to find success following the “Idol” tour this summer. She was already a seasoned pro before the show, and now she has an enormous platform to build upon.
Last month we posed the question about whether Jessica was too boring to win the show, but according to the judges, Jessica’s two weakest attributes were failing to connect her eyes to the lyrics and song choice.
According to our predictions center, Jessica was never a favorite to win the show. Unlike each of the remaining Top 3 contestants, she never reached the #1 position on our winner’s chart.
