‘American Idol’ poll: Vote for best & worst performances on Top 8 show

On American Idol Wednesday night, nobody bombed out. Several performancers were knock-your-block off grrrrrreat.

As usual, Jena Irene blasted the roof off the Nokia Theater with “Rolling in the Deep” as Jennifer Lopez egged her on to “destroy everybody else’s performances” every week.

Dexter Roberts rallied with “One Mississippi,” even extracting rare, sincere praise out of notorious sourpuss Harry Connick Jr., who roared, “You sang the crap out of that song!”

Malaya Watson‘s version of “Ain’t No Way” was so touching, Jlo gasped, “You’re blossoming into this star right before our very eyes. It’s a beautiful thing to see.”

Keith Urban proclaimed “I love the ferocity you sing with!” to Jessica Meuse.

JLo spotted “a glimpse of magic” in Sam Woolf‘s unique riff on “Lego House.”

“You are a blues warrior, a soul conqueror, rock and roll viking!” Keith Urban shouted at Caleb Johnson after he crooned “Chain of Fools.”

JLo on C.J. Harris‘ rendition of “Soul Shine”: “That sounded so soulful and heartful to me!”

Harry Connick Jr. on Alex Preston performing his original tune “Fairytales”: “I like the fact that you did an original and I liked the arrangement. You were shaking that bravado out!”
