‘The Bachelorette’ preview: Josh is the frontrunner, but watch out for Marcus and Nick

There are six men left for Andi Dorfman to choose from on “The Bachelorette,” and our users are betting that the former baseball player will win the game: Josh leads the field with 9/2 odds, but he’s followed closely by sports medicine manager Marcus and software sales exec Nick, who get 11/2 odds each.

‘Bachelorette’ episode six: Andi wants the whole truth and nothing but the truth

Andi was attracted to Josh from the beginning, and despite her reservations – she’s been hurt before by athletes – she developed a strong connection with him. However, that bond was threatened last week after he objected to a group date during which he and his fellow suitors were subjected to lie detector tests. He wondered if Andi trusted him, and Andi wondered if she had reason not to. Nevertheless, she gave him a rose and kept him in the running.

Nick was the first man to get any rose from Andi; she gave him a first-impression rose during the season premiere. And despite his initial skepticism about the process, she and the show won him over, and last week in Venice he became the first man invited on a second one-on-one date with her.

But Nick has been prone to controversy and confrontations. He is unpopular with his rival contestants, who consider him arrogant. The infighting has concerned Andi too – does he put on an act for her and show his true colors with the other men? – but so far not enough for her to eliminate him.

Marcus caught Andi’s eye in more ways than one during the first group date of the season, when she had him perform a solo stripping routine for charity. She must have liked what she saw, because he got an early rose for his performance. In a later episode, he rappelled down the side of a skyscraper with her, proving how supportive he could be. Of the three frontrunners, he has ruffled the fewest feathers. Is it smart for him to stay out of the fray, or does he need to inspire more passion from Andi?
