There have now been four perfect dances this season on “Dancing With the Stars” by four different competitors, but this week’s show was the first time there were two in one night. In the spirit of the Celebrity Dance Duels theme, we’re going to pit them against each other, and you can decide which contestant was better.
Charlie White opened the night with the first perfect 40 of the evening. He and pro partner Sharna Burgess danced a quickstep that finally earned him the approval he had been craving from the judges, particularly Len Goodman, who had been White’s toughest critic, telling him last week that he needed to deliver something special before he’d deserve a perfect score. Mission accomplished.
Amy Purdy is no stranger to 10s from the judges’ table, but this was the first time she received them across the board – a week after she injured a rib, no less. Her Argentine tango with Derek Hough was the last individual routine of the night before the Dance Duel performances commenced, and even though they nearly knocked over a stool in the middle of their routine, the judges were so impressed by their choreography and precision that they rated the dancers perfect anyway.
