Is Lea Thompson the ‘DWTS’ frontrunner, or the next to go?

It looks like the mirror ball trophy is still up for grabs on “Dancing with the Stars,” with the contestants trading the lead back and forth in the judges’ scores from week to week. The show’s topsy-turvy results have created a division among our users who are making predictions. For instance, Lea Thompson leads our racetrack odds to win the season for the first time since week four; she’s tied with Alfonso Ribeiro with 9/2 odds. But other users think she might actually be at risk of elimination.

Our top scoring user for the season so far is alokin, and he thinks Thompson is going home. Is he right? Despite the frequent admiration of the judges – including the top score during week two and a near perfect score on week four – she was the second lowest scorer on “Dynamic Duos” night (just ahead of Tommy Chong), and this season has shown that’s a dangerous place to be.

Though the last two eliminated contestants (Antonio Sabato Jr. and Michael Waltrip) were at the bottom of the leaderboard, those were the only two times this season so far that the lowest scorer was sent home, perhaps because fans know they must rally around a last-place contestant to keep him or her from being eliminated. That means other contestants near the bottom – like Thompson – are vulnerable.

But Thompson will be spared according to the consensus of our users, who predict Chong will be sent home, giving the 76-year-old comedian 3/1 odds of elimination, with Thompson close behind with 4/1 odds.

Users expect that Chong will also get the lowest score of the night, and alokin agrees with that forecast, but while Ribeiro is favored to get the night’s highest score, alokin thinks reality-TV star Sadie Robertson will come out on top.

Will alokin’s bold predictions pay off? And could Thompson really be on her way out? Use our drag-and-drop menu below to make your predictions.
