Daytime Emmy reactions roundup: ‘All your misdeeds are now forgiven!’

Our forum posters are savvy Daytime Emmy watchdogs who have followed the event for years, never shy about celebrating its successes or calling out the academy when they get it very, very wrong. But there’s more good than bad in this year’s nominations according their comments, especially the multiple bids for NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.”

‘Young and Restless’ cast reaps 11 Daytime Emmy nominations, ‘General Hospital’ 8

OLTLfan: “It’s sad to see no Finola Hughes [‘General Hospital‘] the second year in a row, don’t know what she has to do to get another nom.”

BTN: “Just really good to see ‘One Life to Live‘ and not ‘GH’ [nominated for Best Drama]!”

RichardR: “‘GH’ and ‘OLTL’ were sharing some of the stars for a while and i think the way ABC treated them may have backfired.”

NateDoggg: “I am amazed at the success of shows like ‘The American Bible Challenge’ and intrigued by the inclusion of ‘The Chew’ and ‘Katie,’ two shows credited/blamed for the demise of ABC soaps (and their presence in major program categories combined with ‘GH’s’ absence makes me wonder somewhat about its future).”

FreemanGriffin: “Greg Vaughan and Freddie Smith [‘Days‘] not being nominated is just plain wrong!”

SummerSoap31: “Thank God Eileen Davidson [‘Days’] is nominated! I would have started throwing stuff otherwise.”

alokin: “Amelia Heinle [‘The Young and the Restless‘], Eric Martsolf [‘Days’], and Ari Zucker [‘Days’]! I’m STUNNED! Daytime Emmys, you’ve officially REDEEMED yourself. Just for the inclusion of the above so VERY DESERVING nominees, all your misdeeds are now forgiven!”

DS0816: “Hooray for ‘The Bold and the Beautifullead-actress nominee Katherine Kelly Lang!”

EmmyLoser: “Now really the big question we’ll all be asking is what these people submitted to either be included or omitted … I do wish ‘Days’ had done better overall, but it’s hardly a surprise that they didn’t. The show has traditionally not done that well with the Emmys.”

youngsoapfan: “Won’t hold my breath, but I think the chances right now look pretty good for Eileen Davidson to finally win her first Lead actress emmy that she was robbed of back in 1998.”

LindaTNo1: “[Former ‘All My Children‘ star] Rebecca Budig and her [lifestyle] show, ‘The Better Show,’ also being nominated is a nice surprise.”
