The Creative Arts Emmys take place this Saturday (Aug. 16) giving you precious little time to make or change your predictions in the race for Best Drama Guest Actress. While arguments could be made for any of the six nominees to take home the statuette, our 13 Emmy Experts think this race is an absolute lock for Allison Janney (“Masters of Sex“).
Since Janney receives the support of 100% of our Experts, let’s take a look to all of their #2 choices to see which nominee has the best shot of spoiling her fifth Emmy win.
Eight of the 13 Experts have Jane Fonda (“The Newsroom“) in second place: Mike Cidoni (Associated Press), Lynn Elber (Associated Press), Joyce Eng (TV Guide), Scott Feinberg (Hollywood Reporter), Steve Pond (The Wrap), Lynette Rice (People), Matt Roush (TV Guide) and Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby).
Kate Mara (“House of Cards“) and Margo Martindale (“The Americans“) have no first or second place votes from our Experts, making them longshots to take home the prize according to our baker’s dozen Emmyologists.
According to Gold Derby’s official racetrack odds that combine the predictions of our Experts, Editors and Users, Janney is currently in first place with 1/5 odds, Burton is in second place with 16/1 odds, Fonda is in third place with 20/1 odds, Rigg and Mara are tied for fourth place with 50/1 odds and Martindale is in last place with 100/1 odds.
