Unlike their splits over many of the comedy and drama series races, our Emmy experts are unified as to what will win both Best Miniseries and Best TV Movie. And there are overwhelming frontrunners in three of the four movie/mini acting races, with only supporting actress shaping up to be a contest.
All nine of our Emmyologists — Mike Cidoni (AP), Joyce Eng (TV Guide), Scott Feinberg (THR) Matthew Jacobs (HuffPo), Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby), Steve Pond (The Wrap), Matt Roush (TV Guide) Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby) and freelancer Ken Tucker — are predicting that FX’s “Fargo” will win Best Miniseries.
However, the Movie/Mini Supporting Actress race is shaping up to be a contest between Oscar champ Julia Roberts (“Erin Brockovich”) for her show-stopping work in “The Normal Heart” and newcomer Allison Tolman for her sizeable role in “Fargo.” Tolman is touted by six Experts while Roberts has the backing of three.
