“Liquor helps,” joked Emmy winner Jane Lynch (“Hollywood Game Night“) when she was asked in the Creative Arts Emmys press room how hard it was playing host to such a cavalcade of celebrities every week. (Watch the entire video below.)
According to Gold Derby’s Experts, Editors and Users, Lynch was the frontrunner to win Best Reality Host with 10/9 odds, just ahead of last year’s winners Heidi Klum/Tim Gunn (“Project Runway“) with 7/5 odds.
So how did Lynch pull off the win? As I wrote in my Reality Host analysis piece last week, “Her dominance in this outing reminds us of the years when Jeff Probst would always take front and center dealing with issues from his “Survivor” contestants. If voters want to reward an out-of-the-box, worthy choice, they’ll go with Lynch.”
Below, watch Lynch dish with the press backstage about how “Hollywood Game Night” came to fruition thanks to her friendship with Sean Hayes. And at the 2:50 minute mark, I ask her how this win compares to her 2010 Emmy victory for “Glee” (Best Comedy Supporting Actress).
