Anne Thompson of Thompson on Hollywood tops all film Experts in predicting the 2014 Golden Globe nominations announced Thursday. She was best among 17 Experts that we polled by scoring an outstanding 82% correct regarding the film nods.

Globe voters are sometimes predictable but often times go their own way with nominations. With that in mind, some of Thompson’s best predictions were Jennifer Aniston (“Cake“), Julianne Moore (“Maps to the Stars“), Robert Duvall (“The Judge“), and “St. Vincent” for Best Comedy/Musical Film.

After Thompson, in a tie for second spot with 80% accurate are Tariq Khan (Fox News), Gold Derby’s own Tom O’Neil and Paul Sheehan, and Susan Wloszczyna (RogerEbert.com).

Next up is Sasha Stone (Awards Daily) with 78%, and then a tie between Thom Geier, Steve Pond (The Wrap), Jenelle Riley (Variety), and Glenn Whipp (L.A. Times) with 76%.

The next spot is held by Keith Simanton (IMDB) with 75%, and then Kevin Polowy (Yahoo) with 73% correct. The three tied with 71% are Edward Douglas (Coming Soon), Peter Travers (Rolling Stone), and Scott Mantz (Access Hollywood). The last two spots are Michael Musto (Out.com) at 69% and Thelma Adams (Thelmadams.com) at 62%.

Overall, the toughest categories to predict were Best Comedy/Musical Actress at 56% and Best Director at 61%. The easiest were Best Supporting Actor at 88% and Best Animated Feature at 87% correct.

For our groups, the Editors were best with 77% correct, and then the Experts at 76% and Users with 72%.
