News Nuggets: Will Hugh Laurie be the new Vice President on “Veep”?

Actor Hugh Laurie is definitely filming multiple episodes for HBO’s comedy series “Veep,” but is he the new Vice President? Network officials would not confirm what his role is, but last season’s finale had the lead character of Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) taking over as the new United States President. She was also in the midst of a crumbling campaign to win the office herself, so a strong running mate would certainly be needed. Laurie is a two-time Golden Globe winner for his previous long-running role on “House” but never could quite win an Emmy Award despite six attempts. TV Line
