On Monday at 1 p.m. PT/ 4 p.m. ET, we’re chatting live on our home page with Jane Fonda about her new Emmy nomination for “The Newsroom” in which she portrays Leona Lansing, a ferocious owner of of a cable TV news channel.
It’s a juicy role because Leona is a prim, tut-tutting socialite who is also a firebrand media chief unafraid to rattle the same elite establishment she belongs to as a tycoon.
Her episode submission to Emmy judges — “Red Team III” — is a good one, in which she passionately refuses to accept the resignations of her scandal-plagued news team.
You can join our chat by posing your questions and comments in the chat room that will appear on our home page next to the live-streaming video.
Among her many honors, Fonda won an Emmy in 1984 for Best Actress in a TV Movie for “The Dollmaker.” She also has two Best Actress Oscars: “Klute” (1971) and “Coming Home” (1978).
