Exclusive video: What Jessica Meuse thinks after exiting ‘American Idol’

Now that she was voted off “American Idol,” Jessica Meuse tells Gold Derby she has no regrets about her time on the show. “I’m really happy with how everything worked out,” she says. “There’s nothing I would’ve done differently. I’m a great believer in that everything happens for a reason.”

Her favorite experience was being able to sing her own music. “To do that and bear your soul on stage is a surreal experience,” she adds. “It’s amazing. It’s the best feeling ever.”

When asked to pick her best performance of other artists’ work, she cited her rendition of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Rhiannon”: “I get compared to Stevie Nicks a lot and that was one time I felt I came into my own without my guitar. Just me and my mike stand. I felt it was so wonderful.”

Majesty Rose became her best friend while they became roommates during the contest. “We went out to eat. We went on adventures,” she recalls. “When she got sent home, I got so sad. I sobbed. I can’t wait to see her again because she’s flying back out for the finale and I’m so happy that we’re going out on tour together.”
