On Monday afternoon, we’ll talk with Jim Parsons about a pair of Emmy-contending performances: as Sheldon Cooper in the CBS comedy “The Big Bang Theory” and Tommy Boatwright in the HBO film “The Normal Heart.” Join us for our live chat on June 16, at 12:00pm PT/3:00pm ET on Gold Derby’s home page.
Parsons is already a three-time Emmy champ having prevailed as Best Comedy Actor in 2010, 2011, and 2013. If he wins again this year he’ll tie the all-time record in the category currently held by Carroll O’Connor (“All in the Family”), Kelsey Grammer (“Frasier”) and Michael J. Fox (“Family Ties” and “Spin City”).
And he could win yet another prize on Emmy night, Best Movie/Mini Supporting Actor, thanks to his role as AIDS activist and self-proclaimed “Southern bitch” Tommy Boatwright in “The Normal Heart.” Directed by Ryan Murphy, the telefilm is based on Larry Kramer‘s Tony-winning play about the early years of the AIDS epidemic in New York City; Parsons played the same role in the 2011 rialto revival.
Will Parsons pick up two Emmys to add to his collection this year? Predict Movie/Mini Supporting Actor below and come back for our live chat.
