“Hedwig and the Angry Inch” was a frontrunner going into the Tony Awards, and it didn’t disappoint, winning Best Musical Revival, Best Actor in a Musical (Neil Patrick Harris), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Lena Hall), and Best Lighting Design of a Musical.
Before Harris came to the press room to discuss his win, the press spoke to Hall, as well as John Cameron Mitchell and the other winning producers of the show.
Hall was able to watch Harris’s acceptance speech before discussing her own emotional victory. She also spoke about the challenges of her gender-bending role. Then Mitchell and company expressed their opinions about the Tony-ineligible “Hedwig” score and discussed plans for a sequel.
