On Friday afternoon, we’ll talk with Max Greenfield about his role as Schmidt on FOX’s “New Girl,” which finished its third season on May 6 and returns for a fourth season this fall. Join us for our live chat on June 13, at 12:00 Noon PT/3:00pm ET on Gold Derby’s home page.
Schmidt was a breakthrough role for Greenfield following several guest and recurring roles on TV shows like “Greek,” “Ugly Betty,” and “Veronica Mars,” the last of which he reprised for the Kickstarter-backed feature film in 2014. Since “New Girl” debuted in 2011, Greenfield has earned Emmy, Golden Globe, and two Critics’ Choice Award nominations.
Season three of “New Girl” began at a peak of romantic turmoil for Schmidt, who struggled to decide between two women he loved: Cece (Hannah Simone) and Elizabeth (Merritt Wever), whom he dated at the same time before his two-timing was revealed and he lost them both. Eventually, he tried to reconcile with Cece.
What does the future hold for Schmidt? Will he win back Cece, and will Greenfield win over Emmy? Predict Best Comedy Supporting Actor below, then come back tomorrow for our live chat.
