Oscar experts predict Best Picture battle: ‘Boyhood’ vs. ‘Unbroken’

Eleven of our Oscar experts have weighed in with their first wave of predictions. While many of the top contenders for this year’s Academy Awards have yet to be screened, these Oscarologists have peered into their crystal balls and cast the following predictions.

BEST PICTURE
Our 11 experts are divided, with three different films predicted to take this top award next Feb. 22.

Six of them — Thelma Adams (Yahoo!), Christopher Rosen (Huffington Post), Keith Simanton (IMDB), Sasha Stone (Awards Daily), Anne Thompson (Thompson on Hollywood) and Susan Wloszczyna 
(RogerEbert.com) — are touting “Boyhood,” which also leads our overall odds

Four of us — Ed Douglas (Comingsoon.net) Thom Geier (EW), Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby) and I — are backing the bid by “Unbroken.” 

And Tariq Khan (Fox News) foresees “Foxcatcher” taking the top prize.
