Oscars Best Picture: 23 Experts predict ’12 Years a Slave,’ 7 for ‘Gravity’

Of our 30 Oscarologists, 23 of them are predicting that “12 Years a Slave” will win Best Picture while seven back the bid by “Gravity.” 

This surge in support gives “12 Years a Slaveleading odds of 4 to 9 while “Gravity” is at 10/3. Of the other seven nominees, only “American Hustle” (50/1) has odds better than 100/1.

  1. I realize that for the most part as seen over the years the Academy voters seem like lost sheep looking for someone to guide them or tell them how to vote, like film critics. However, this year I am hoping that they will go their independent ways and give Hollywood the big surprise in choosing “American Hustle” as the best film of the year.
