  1. There were some surprises and shockers this morning. Some shockers were Meryl and Naomi being nominated. Meryl is the love child of the SAG awards; let someone else in like Laura Dern for Wild. I was sad to not see Bradley Cooper for American Sniper and Logan Lerman for Fury. My biggest shock came when Shailene Woodley was not nominated for The Fault in Our Stars. I thought that her co-star Ansel Elgort was reading the nominations that she was included. All the press Jennifer Aniston has been doing payed off for her role in Cake. I hope the HFPA gets it right tomorrow and the Academy in January.

  2. Was Julianne Moore not eligible for “Maps to the Stars” because it will be released Feb. 2015 ?
That’s the only explanation I have. It’s the best Supporting Actress performance this year!

  3. Not even sure why they still give out awards for TV comedies. It’s the same damn people and the same boring shows every year. Both Big Bang and Modern Family were unique and funny when they came out. Now it’s the same formulaic crap every season.

  4. Brian, you seem to be ignorant that Meryl has only won 2, that’s not a “love child”. Did you really think that Shailene Woodley would get nominated? She was nowhere near the major awards. That was not a shock.

  5. No Marion Cotillard or Jessica Chastain. I know everything was pretty predictable elsewhere, but still annoying when these 2 names, I mean performances are just as good as probably the winner of their categories. I know every nom has a chance to win but still frustrating. I know Jen Aniston is great as Jen Aniston and probably in her movie and there has to be shocker somewhere. Disappointed in Unbroken not doing as well as it should, it still can in other award shows. Shai Woodley not being nominated says a lot. Just the balls to do that role I think and still be incredible in it, that to is frustrating from the SAG community not putting her in. Even if 4 nominees are locks, I still feel like no one would have a problem with her being nominated. Also, am I the only one who thinks Robert Duvall doesn’t really belong here this award season? I mean he can do that performance in his sleep. It’s the same thing with Bill Murray in St Vincent. Both not so good movies and both just reminding us that these 2 actors can still do what they’ve done before many times. There is diversity with Meryl’s performances and which get nominated. Acting can only go so far and it’s why she’s the best, but overall a pretty bland SAG nominee list. If your going to do a surprise, do a Rinko Kikuchi or Marion Cotillard or Shai Woodley.

  6. I saw The Fault in Our Stars and was blown away by Shaliene Woodley’s performance. She was overlooked for her role in The Descendants. I hope she gets nominated tomorrow. MoonAtomic~ I so agree with what you said. She poured her heart on the screen. Meryl Streep is the love child of every awards show. I am getting tired of hearing her name for every movie she is in. We could have an awards show without her being nominated.

  7. Where is OUTLANDER? One if not the best new TV series currently and it also has the best lead actor SAM HEUGLAN , best lead actress CAITRIONA BALFE and the best ensemble.
Always the same Los, same old nominations. For heaven sake there are other very excellent actors/actresses . Sick of seeing the same names year after year. I don’t believe the voters in SAG actually watch the films so they just take the easy way out and just pick the same as last year’s.
Please no more Claire Danes. She is darn irritating.
