Did Adam Levine make his ‘The Voice’ team ’10 times stronger’ with key steal on Monday?

Adam Levine ended Monday’s episode of “The Voice” with a critical steal that he believes makes his team “10 times stronger” than before.

Monday’s two-hour show featured the first night of knockout rounds with 12 artists in six contests. Coach Pharrell Williams ended the episode with a battle between two of his best: Luke Wade and Taylor Phelan. Wade was the chosen winner in singing the Hall and Oates song “Rich Girl” over Phelan with Clean Bandit‘s “Rather Be.”

During the knockouts, each coach only has one steal and special advisor Taylor Swift assisting them. All three other coaches — Levine, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton — hit their buttons and made their cases to Phelan for joining their teams. He (and his wife in the audience) selected Levine because he has been championing Phelan for many weeks.

The first battle of the evening for Team Gwen also offered up an exciting steal. Bryana Salaz was the winner with the Demi Lovato tune “Heart Attack” over Sugar Joans with Beyonce‘s “Love on Top.” Williams then jumped in to steal Joans for an upcoming round.

Gutsy ‘The Voice’ prediction: ‘Raw’ Luke Wade will win this season

In the four other matches Monday night:

Team Blake chose James David Carter (“You’ve Got a Friend” by James Taylor) over Griffin (“As Long As You Love Me” by Justin Bieber).

Team Pharrell selected DaNica Shirey (“Saving All My Love For You” by Whitney Houston) over Katriz Trinidad (“Superwoman” by Alicia Keys).

Team Adam picked Damien (“How Do I Live” by LeAnn Rimes) over Toia Jones (“Crazy in Love” by Beyonce).

Team Blake chose Jessie Pitts (“Your Song” by Elton John) over Tanner Linford (“Calling All Angels” by Train).

Next up for NBC’s reality program, the contestants move on to more knockout rounds on Tuesday. Since Williams and Levine have used their only steals, that leaves Shelton and Stefani each with some power to still take an artist away.
