Viewers of “The Voice” came up with some shocking results on Tuesday’s show: both Reagan James and Anita Antoinette were eliminated. According to your predictions, James was in third place to actually win this season, while Antoinette was certainly not projected to go home yet.
The Top 10 contenders were narrowed down to eight on Tuesday night based on the home audience’s vote tallies. According to your predictions (see chart at left), Jamison and Sill were in 12th place at 12/1. Antoinette was in 7th place at 10/1. James was near the top in 3rd place at 8/1.
With the elimination of James, coach Blake Shelton is down to just one contestant remaining (Craig Wayne Boyd). He is unaccustomed to such a lowly position as a coach/judge, having won the second, third, and fourth cycles of the NBC reality program.
In the last portion of Tuesday’s episode of the NBC reality program, the three artists at the bottom performed to be saved by the live home audience.
James (Team Blake) sang “I’m Like a Bird” by Nelly Furtado.
Antoinette (Team Gwen) sang “The Remedy” by Jason Mraz.
Sill (Team Gwen) sang “Collide” by Howie Day.
Antoinette and James should not be completely upset, however. All of the eliminated artists from this week and last week (Sugar Joans, Jessie Pitts) will be invited back to perform again near the end of the season. One of those contenders will be saved by the public to join the three finalists as a “wild card.”
Here are the top eight remaining artists for next Monday’s live performance show:
Team Blake has Craig Wayne Boyd.
Team Gwen has Sill and Taylor John Williams.
