While “Boyhood” was an expected winner in the drama editing category, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” upset frontrunner “Birdman” for comedy/musical. Among documentaries, “Citizenfour” was not a surprise in its category, nor was Oscar-snubbed “The Lego Movie” for animation.
For the seven Experts who participated, five of them tied with 75% accuracy: Edward Douglas (Coming Soon), Thom Geier, Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby), Sasha Stone (Awards Daily), and Susan Wloszczyna (RogerEbert.com). The bottom two were Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes) and Tariq Khan (Fox News) at 50% right.
I was proclaimed Gold Derby’s best Editor by also having a perfect 100% score. Daniel Montgomery, Marcus Dixon, and Matt Noble missed one category for a 75% score. Rob Licuria was in the rear with 25% correct.
