‘American Idol’ recap: Did YOU predict eliminations of Adanna Duru, Maddie Walker?

Did you predict the shocking eliminations of two of “American Idol‘s” leading ladies Wednesday night? If you predicted that Adanna Duru and Maddie Walker would receive the lowest number of votes, why are you not taking part in our “American Idol” prediction contest? Hurry — make your own predictions now and you could win our weekly prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy!

During Wednesday’s live show, host Ryan Seacrest announced that the following contestants would sing again for America’s votes, thus making it through to Top 9 week: Daniel Seavey, Quentin Alexander, Joey Cook, Tyanna Jones, Jax, Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham, Qaasim Middleton and Rayvon Owen. That left poor Adanna and Maddie as this week’s double-elimination victims.

Daniel was Gold Derby’s official prediction to go home with 9/4 odds, while Adanna was our second-place choice with 7/2 odds and Maddie was our third-place choice with 9/2 odds. Click on the chart to the right to see our readers’ complete predictions.

Congrats to our user WiltedYouth for winning this week’s episode contest! This reader wins a $100 Amazon gift certificate thanks to his prediction that Maddie would go home (see predix). He put his 500 point bet on this longshot when her odds were at 11/2, nabbing 2,750 total points and earning the top position on this week’s episode leaderboard.

Where do you fall on our overall Season 14 leaderboard?

For the entire season so far, six of our users are all tied with 50% accuracy, though they’re separated by their point scores: Phoenix is in first place with 5,005 points, Povalles is in second place with 4,109 points, KyleBailey is in third place with 4,030 points, Denton is in fourth place with 1,650 points, Amikala is in fifth place with 1,300 points and JB is in sixth place with 1,250 points.

Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “American Idol” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for each episode is Wednesday at 4 p.m. PT.

Our current overall leader Phoenix correctly predicted Maddie’s elimination this week (see predix), and by placing his 200 point bet on that question when the odds were at 5/1, he raked in a cool 1,000 points. Phoenix failed to forecast the previous low vote-getters Sarina-Joi Crowe and Qaasim, proving it’s possible to do well in our contests without getting everything right.

Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
