For the past two months, Gold Derby has been tracking the ebbs and flows of the “American Idol” winner’s race based on our users’ predictions. As you can see on our chart above, Clark Beckham (the blue line) has had a commanding lead all season long. But what goes up must come down. Hurry — make your predictions for next week’s episode and you could win our prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down and predicting who will be eliminated next.
Based on the current forecasts of our users, Clark is predicted to win Season 14 with odds of 27/10. His closest competitor throughout the season, Jax, follows behind him with 17/10 odds, followed by Nick Fradiani in third place at 15/2 and Rayvon Owen in last place with odds of 25/1.
Jax is the red line on the chart above, and you can see that she’s finally closing in on Clark for the first time since our predictions began back on March 11. In terms of percentages, Clark has the support of 43% of users compared to Jax’s 37%.
Nick (the yellow line) and Rayvon (the green line) haven’t had much movement over the past two months, though it’s interesting to see both are on a slight upswing as they enter the home stretch. That suggests both singers are peaking near the end of the competition, as opposed to Clark who may have peaked too soon.
Also among the 12% predicting Nick to win is last week’s $100 champion, FreemanGriffin. He was one of only four people to reap perfect 100% prediction accuracy while predicting Top 5 Week, however he took the lead (and the $100 weekly prize) with 3,002 points thanks to using his 500 and 200 point bets wisely.
Meanwhile, I’m one of the 37% of users who are going out on a limb for Jax, despite the fact that six of the past seven winners have all been guitar-playing, young white guys … just like Clark and Nick. (See our photo gallery of past winners below.)
None of our top users are predicting an upset from Rayvon, who has only 4% overall support.

Where do you fall on our overall Season 14 leaderboard?
For the entire season so far, Phoenix and JB are tied for first place with 61% accuracy, though Phoenix’s point score (16,735) is higher than JB’s (2,915) thanks to locking in better odds and using his 500 and 200 point bets wisely.
Third place goes to Denton with 57%, and then there’s a three-way tie for fourth place with Benutty, Povalles and Ryan Lapierre all at 54%. Click here to see where you score on our overall season leaderboard.
Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “American Idol” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for each episode is Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.
Our current overall leader Phoenix correctly predicted Tyanna’s ouster this week and Quentin’s exit last week. However, he missed calling Joey’s elimination in Top 7 Week (see complete predix), proving that it’s possible to do well in our contests without getting everything right.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
To vote for who think will go home next on “American Idol,” drag contestants over from the left to the right and arrange them in your predicted order.
