“American Idol” threw us a massive curveball Thursday night by naming Qaasim Middleton as the singer with the lowest number of votes. I thought for sure it’d be either Adanna Duru or Daniel Seavey going home, as that’s who Gold Derby’s savvy readers were predicting, but we were all in for a surprise as the judges used their sole Judges’ Save of the season.
Did you predict that Qaasim would reap the lowest number of votes and that the judges would use their save? If so, you should be taking part in our “American Idol” prediction contest. The users who score the highest every week plus at season’s end will win $100 Amazon gift certificates. It’s fun and easy, so start predicting now.
After Adanna and Daniel, host Ryan Seacrest announced safety for eight more singers in the following order: Rayvon Owen, Nick Fradiani, Joey Cook, Tyanna Jones, Quentin Alexander, Maddie Walker, Clark Beckham and Jax.
Qaasim sang “Come Together” as his save-me song, and judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban just couldn’t deny how great his performance was. They used their Judges’ Save to protect Qaasim amidst shouts and cries of approval.
