According to exclusive Gold Derby predictions, it’s going to be lights out for either Qaasim Middleton or Quentin Alexander on “American Idol” tonight. Disagree with those odds? Hurry — make your predictions now and you could win our weekly prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy!
Based on our predictions, Qaasim is the likeliest to get the boot with 5/6 odds, followed by Quentin in second place with 9/2 odds, Rayvon Owen in third place with 13/2 odds and then Joey Cook and Nick Fradiani tied for fourth place with 25/1 odds.
Should I take a chance and risk my 500 point super bet on Tyanna, Jax or Clark? (You also get two big bets of 200 points each every week; the other questions are set at 100 points per.) If I bet my 500 points on any of these frontrunners and they turn out to be the contestant who is eliminated, I will earn a whopping 50,000 points. This is where the strategy — and fun — comes into play here at Gold Derby when making your weekly predictions.
However, when Qaasim received the lowest number of votes (and won the Judges’ Save) in Top 11 Week, he was #5 on our chart.
It’s fair to say of this season’s eliminations, our readers correctly saw the past three (Adanna, Maddie and Daniel) coming a mile away. That doesn’t bode well for either Qaasim or Quentin for Top 8 Week.
Where do you fall on our overall Season 14 leaderboard?
For the entire season so far, JB is in first place with 63% prediction accuracy. As for JB’s current predictions, he tells us, “Qaasim is going home this week. They should never have wasted the Judges’ Save on him, in my opinion. He’s a great performer but a very limited vocalist in over his head. I’d say Clark has this season in the bag. At this point, it’s a race for second place with Jax in the lead.”
Frequent contest winner Denton is in fourth place with 50% accuracy, and then there’s a three-way tie for fifth place, as Magic 8 Ball, Povalles and KyleBailey all have 44% accuracy. Click here to see where you score on our overall season leaderboard.
Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “American Idol” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for each episode is Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.
Our current overall leader JB correctly predicted all four of last week’s questions (see complete predix). However, his point total (400) is lower than KING’s point total (5,000) for the specific episode as KING was able to lock in better odds throughout the week.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
To vote for who think will go home next on “American Idol,” drag contestants over from the left to the right and arrange them in your predicted order. For example, if you think Joey will be eliminated, make sure you put her in first place.
