This Sunday we’ll find out which of the four “Big Brother” jurors returns to the game and whether one of them or a current houseguest will be crowned the new Head of Household. While we await those results, let’s take a closer look at who is leading our odds to win Season 17. As we all know, Johnny Mac was evicted Thursday night, but is still in the hunt to re-enter the game. Up against a trio of challenge beasts — Shelli Poole, Jackie Ibarra and Becky Burgess — he has an uphill battle to get back in, but that hasn’t kept users from keeping him at the top of our predictions with 14/5 odds to win. John’s popularity among fans is probably a contributing factor to his favorable odds, but he’s also managed to play a stealthy game — throwing challenges in the early weeks, avoiding the nomination block through the middle and then going full-tilt this week when he began playing an aggressive social game.
Easily the most competitive of the “Austwins” alliance, Liz went on a hot streak last week winning both the HOH and Veto comps to guarantee her target, Becky, left the house. Within her alliance, Liz may be the most secure since both her showmance, Austin Matelson, and her twin sister, Julia Nolan, are likely to choose her over each other if they make it to the Final 3. With 4/1 odds to win, Liz continues to rise in our predictions, but it’s likely that her threat level to the others in the game is rising just as quickly.
Vanessa has been a mainstay at the top of the odds for what seems like forever, currently in third with 9/2 odds to win. The heat has been on for the poker player in recent weeks as she’s been a possible backdoor target by her own alliance and called out by superfan Steve Moses in his diary room entries for playing a masterful game. With all four jurors having their eyes on Vanessa, she’s likely to be target #1 this week, but as we’ve seen so far, her game is best when her back is against the wall, whether she’s aware of it or not.
Check out the overall Season 17 leaderboard to the right. Currently our #1 “Big Brother” predictor is Frederic Lam with overall 89% accuracy and 130,794 points, but there are still many weeks left to play in our contest and be eligible to win our weekly and overall season prizes. Since the juror question is still in play from Week 9 of our predictions, we cannot announce the top-scoring user of this week’s contest until Sunday night when CBS reveals the winner on the next episode of “Big Brother.” Until then, keep voting in our prediction contest for the remaining questions.
In our “Big Brother” predictions center, you get to answer the following questions for the rest of the week:
Who will win HOH competition?
Which 2 houseguests will be nominated for eviction?
Who will win the Veto competition?
Will the Veto be played?
Which houseguest will be evicted?
Who will win ‘Big Brother’?
Making your predictions is fun and easy. Just log into your Gold Derby account, or you can register for a free account via Facebook, Twitter or Google.
After logging in, click on the “Predictions” button found at the top-right of every page. That will bring you to a list of every event currently being predicted at Gold Derby — everything from the Emmys and Oscars to “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Survivor.”
Click on any box and then scroll down to start making your predictions. For each TV show, cast your votes on several different questions relating to the upcoming episode. If you click on the “Big Brother” button, you’ll see something like this:
To vote for who you think will be eliminated next, drag your chosen contestant over from the left to the right. Every time someone logs their predictions, the racetrack odds of the contestants are automatically updated.
If the majority of users think Vanessa will go home, that means she’ll have the best odds and will go to the front of the pack. Conversely, the contestants who don’t receive many predictions have the worst odds and will go to the bottom of the pile.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
Average Gold Derby users just like YOU often turn out to be our smartest prognosticators, so it’s important that you give us your predictions. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
